Join us to celebrate this year’s UXPA Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient: Stephanie Rosenbaum. Hosted by Chris Haas.
Stephanie Rosenbaum founded TecEd, Inc. 55 years ago and it continues today under her leadership. She has remained a steadfast supporter of the UX community—and UXPA since its inception. Over her long career she’s mentored the experienced and given a start to those beginning their UX career journey.
TecEd, Inc., is a pioneering UX consultancy whose clients include Google, Hyundai, Cisco Systems, Varian Medical Systems, NVIDIA, Ford Motor Company, the IEEE, several universities, and a wide variety of smaller firms. Several of the leaders of today’s UX community are TecEd alumni. Stephanie is a charter member of UPA/UXPA—she attended every UPA conference from its inception in 1991 to 2012, and has presented at most of the UXPA conferences, including this year.
Stephanie is also active in ACM SIGCHI, received the STC’s Rainey Award for Excellence in Research, and was awarded an IEEE Millennium Medal in 2000. She contributed an invited chapter on “The Future of Usability Evaluation” to Maturing Usability from the European COST294-MAUSE research community, and a chapter on “Making User Research Usable” in Software Design and Usability. With Chauncey Wilson, she contributed a chapter on ROI to the second edition of Cost-Justifying Usability. Her research background includes anthropology studies at Columbia University, experimental psychology research for the University of California at Berkeley, and the design of hundreds of UX research studies for TecEd.
